PURITANS

• Puritans wanted to "purity" the church
• Did not want to break away from its church in England
• But wanted to cure the church of its to "catholic ways
• Eventually gave up this idea
• Settled in Boston

PILGRIMS

• Wanted to break away from the church
• Settled in Plymouth
• Also called separatists
• Travels to a place for religious reasons
• They left for America to spread there religion

ENGLISH CHURCH

• Both groups come from the English church
• English church had Catholic and Protestants
• Very intense over their religion
• Often found themselves fighting over which one rule the church

JOURNEY TO AMERICA

CONDITIONS

• The conditions were harsh
• Rough sleep
• Long months,days,and hours
• Food shortages
• Disease

WHEN THEY ARRIVED

• They traveled solely to spread religion
• Discover treasure
• And spread the word of god
• And make their way of religion
• The way of life for everyone
