PLEURISY

It is the inflammation of the pleura or the membranes of the lungs. It usually occurs in conjunction with pneumonia or other lung infections.

SYMPTOMS

• Sharp stabbing pain while breathing
• Crepitation in the lungs
• Dyspnea
• Fever

TREATMENTS

• Rest and medication
• If fluid is collected in the pleural space,
• a thoracentesis is performed to remove it.
