RISING ACTION

The series of incidents that build the conflict and tension toward the climax.

CLIMAX

The highest or most intense point in the story; the turning point in a plot.

FALLING ACTION

The sequence of events that follows the climax and leads to the resolution of the plot.

RESOLUTION

The part of the story where the conflict is resolved or worked out. It is typically where the story ends.
