Pilgrims

  • Pilgrims came from England on a boat called the Mayflower.
  • They landed in Plymouth, Massachusets in 1620
  • They left the Mayflower and landed on Plymouth Rock

What is Plymouth rock?

  • A very heavy rock - 20,000 pounds!
  • Where the pilgrims got off of the Mayflower
  • Kept safe in a small building now

WHy is Plymouth Rock important?

  • It is one of the very first places pilgrims stepped
  • It's a Symbol that shows freedom in our country

Fun Facts
1. Only half of Plymouth rock is above ground.
2. The half underground is over 12,000 Pounds!

Fun Facts:
3. Plymouth Rock broke in half 2 different times! It broke while being moved and had to be glued.
4. People have broken and stolen from this rock so much it is half as big as it was when the pilgrims saw it.
