DEFINITION AND SYMPTOMS

• Pneumoconiosis is a respiratory disease usually found in the lungs-
• -Of male miners ages 50 or older.
• Two main types; Simple and Complicated (PMF).
• Symptoms for simple; coughing and shortness of breath.
• Symptoms for (PMF); severe coughing and complications.

CAUSES OF THE DISEASE

• Mining for extended periods of time.
• Exposure to dust, particles.
• NO CURE

WAYS TO PREVENT

• Stay away from further exposure to dust or rock-
• - particles.
• Smoking does not increase your risk but does damage to lungs.

• This disease is a high risk factor for-

• Can cause other diseases or disorders-
• -to form.
