Name poem
Sydney
It means enthusiastic, smart, confident,
It is the number 19,
It is like the juiciness of excitement,
It is the brother burglar,
It is the memory of Leila,
Who taught me inspiration, and self expression,
When she danced,
My name is Sydney,
It means to live life at it's fullest, every day of the year.
Humerous poem: Homework
Homework makes me sad.
When I finish I am glad.
Every day that I have dance,
Homework hardly has a chance.
I dance and twirl all night long,
To various old and modern song.
When I come home hungry and sleepy,
The amount of homework I have is creepy.
My homework keeps me up at night,
Worse than any Halloween fright.
Sometimes I like to pretend
That homework will come to an end.
I now check the Renweb site.
My tongue I have to bite.
Two more subjects yet to go.
What am I going to do, oh no!
Whew, finally I am done.
All finished just before one.
Yawn, yawn, I need to sleep now.
Tomorrow again? Holy cow!
Haiku #1 (toy)
It's smooth white body
Dusting as you control it
You're now done cleaning
Haiku #2 (morning sun picture)
Orange on citrus
The sky compliments the sun

10 line Poem of wonder
Sometimes I wonder if other colors exist
Even an artist can not imagine these
No color we see are the same
A great please to see something different
Something out of the ordinary
A color blue green yet yellow orange at same
Not a tint nor a shade
It could be all or none of these
How would we know the answer
We can only wonder about answers we don't know
Ode to winter
By Sydney Aikens
The leaves say farewell to the branches
So quickly after the colorful show
The air cools as the days grow shorter
The darkness surrounds us in stillness
The frost begins to cover the ground
As snow clouds drift overhead
Slowly delicate snowflakes fall from the sky
Not enough to stick
The birds have left their nests to head south
And we are left with silence in the morning
The silence blankets the land with calmness.

Fear of spiders
Arachnophobia some may call it
Black and hairy, hideous things they are
Creepy, crawly, in the corner they sit
Disgusting even when trapped in a jar
Hanging high from their silky, sticky web
Waiting patiently for their clueless prey
A trapped bug's morale at its lowest ebb
As its blood is sucked dry and it turns gray
To think of one wriggling right on my skin
Makes me shudder straight to my central core
The mean spider smiles a hideous grin
I scream a scream louder than lions roar
Disgusting spiders invoke such a fear
I shiver and shudder when they are near
