HISTORY AND WHAT IS POETRY

  • Poetry is an art where you express your feeling with an oral or verbal way it could be write or saying it. In which language is used in a manner that is felt by its user and audience to differ from ordinary prose. The poetry start 20 century B.C in an informal form the first poem in a formal way the epic of Gilgamesh it was waited in 1740 and it was published in 1928.

TYPES OF POEMS

  • Narrative: epic, ballad, social
  • Lyric: sonnet, elegy, ode
  • Dramatic: dramatic monologue, soliloquy, character sketch, oration
  • Special types: haiku, cinquain, limeck, name poem

  • Emily dickson was born in December 10, 1830 she study at the Amherst Academy was a prolific private poet and he win a regard of America
  • Greatest poet, she died in May 15, 1886.

ROBERT FROST

  • He was born in March 26, 1874 was an American poet his work was almost always publish in England and he win four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry.
  • Died in January 29, 1963

  • He was born in 7 April 1770 he was an English romantic poet who helped to launch the Romantic Age in English literature, but he died 23 April 1850.

  • Concrete poem
  • I like this type of poem because it is like a drawing and in the same type it is a poem and I think it is a creative form to express it
