PRESENTATION OUTLINE
In 1962, pol pot started his rule in Cambodia when Saloth Sar returned and took him to the communist movement.
Under pol pots rule, people were treated unfairly with no privacy and forced into labor. Approximately 1.5 million of people who lived there were killed.
In the 1980's, political support from the United States and arms from China were against the occupation causing the movement to collapse.
A Khmer Rouge group soon captured pol pot and put him under house arrest. There on April 15, 1998, he died in his sleep due to heart failure.
