Niccola was a diplomat for 14 years in Italy's Florentine Republic during the Medci family's exile. when the Medci family returned to power in 1512, Machiavelli was dismissed and briefly jailed.

His engage with philosophy can't be studied apart from his vocation as a writer, in which he sought to raise the level of public discourse by educating his countrymen and inspiring them to pursue happiness in the contemplative life. His real name is Durante but Dante is his nickname.

Around 1514, he shared his findings in the commentarious. His second book on the topic, De revolutionibus orbium colestiom was banned by the Roman Catholic Church not long after May 24, 1543.
