  • He traveled the world, visiting more than 100 countries to spread his message of faith and peace.

INTERESTING STORY ABOUT HIM

  • On May 13, 1981Pope John Paul II was shot by Turkish gunman, Mehmet Ali Agca in Saint Peter's Square. He was wounded in the abdomen, arm and hand. The Vatican Secretary of State took over as temporary head of the Roman Catholic Church.
