THE POPSICLE BRIDGE CHALLENGE

BY: JOAHN ORTIZ

ASK:

HOW CAN I BUILD A BRIDGE THAT CAN HOLD AT LEAST 5 pounds?

MATERIALS

  • 50 Popsicle sticks
  • Liquid Glue
  • Weights

BACKGROUND

  • Science is that you have to see if the things around you will stay on it
  • Technology is researching the information
  • Engineering is how you build it
  • The Art is how you want the design
  • Finally, Math is the measuring of the structure

IMAGINE/ PLAN

  • Here are to ideas I have for my bridge. One has more design, but the other has a better chance of holding it. So I chose the one that would hold it better.

CREATE

HERE IS MY FINAL PRODUCT, THIS IS MY BRIDGE

IMPROVE

IT HELD THINGS WELL, BUT THE BEAMS STARTED TO TILT

REAL LIFE CONNECTION

  • My Results in real life can effect if I actually build a real bridge. If I ever have to build something that has to hold things, I have to learn from my mistakes here.
