• The progressives were people who wanted change that would help society.
• They stopped and solved lots of thangs and helped out society.

• It took a while but sc adopted the women's rights in the constitution in 1969 while athers did once it was there.

• Kids were working at a cheap labor.
• When child labor was ending parents wanted there kids to work cause it was there money there getting.
• After kids had to go to school for 7 months out of a year.

POPULIST

• "The people's party".
• They were for poor farmers .
• State alliances formed the populist party.
• Was formed because of farming problems like boll weevils and economics .

POPULIST PARTYS GOAL

• Farm loans
• Secret ballot
• Income tax based on how much you made
• 8 hour workday
• Immigration restrictions

RESULTS

• The populist won minor elections but not major ones.
• Their ideas were taken by democrats and republicans for change.
• Ben Tillman was then looked at as the populist leader for borrowing their ideas.

• It started with an archduke getting assassinated and people blaming people.
