PRESENTATION OUTLINE


To gain total control of the universe Zeus fought a series of wars with the Titans, the Giants, and Typhon. In the war with the Titans, Zeus along with his five brothers and sisters (Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Hera, and Demeter) conquered the Titans with the help of the Hundred-handed monsters and a wise son of a Titan, Prometheus. Pan, the satyr, took glory in the idea that his weapon, a shrill shout, with a sudden, unreasoning terror, or "panic," helped in overcoming the Titans. Zeus bound the Titans in chains and hurled them into Tartarus of the Underworld.


Most of poseidon's powers come from his trident. He can stir up some storms, strike the bottom of the sea to cause earthquakes. This earned him the nickname “Earth-shaker.

Poseidon's resident
Poseidon has a underwater palace, but he spent most of his time on Mount Olympus. He had horses with gold manes on them to take his chariot across water anywhere he wants to go.

Poseidon's symbols
His symbols are horses well he is the God of horses. The trident is his main weapon he uses it in everything. The dolphin because it protected him from danger.

Poseidon's family
He has a wife her name is Amphitrite. She is a titan's daughter. The titan's name is Oceanus. Then amphitrite became the queen of the sea.

He can be a problem for sailors, because when he gets mad and causes enormous waves, tsunamis, and earthquakes. Most of his reasons to get mad is either gods or people throwing stuff in the water.

Also Poseidon was most notably the God of the sea and the protector of all waters; sailors relied upon him for safe passage.
Poseidon was allotted his dominion after the fall of the Titans. He can help when he is in a good mood.

It stands to reason that, because of his influence on the waters, he was worshipped in connection with navigation.
Poseidon was worshipped as a fertility god.
His name is Greek for
husband.

Poseidon assisted the Greeks in the Trojan war. However, Zeus commanded him to withdraw from the battlefield, and he reluctantly obeyed.
