CREATION OF LYCÉES
Napoleon created lycées, or government-run public schools.
This introduced public education in France, helping the French people become more educated.

CONCORDAT WITH PIUS VII (CONCORDAT OF 1801)
Napoleon signed a concordat (a formal agreement dealing with the control of church affairs) with Pope Pius VII.
The agreement stated that the French government recognizes the Church, but rejects Church control in national affairs.
France now had religious tolerance and a less powerful Catholic Church, two goals of the Revolution.

SET UP NAPOLEONIC CODE
This code of laws presented equality in law, i.e. A noble will receive the same punishment as a peasant. The code also stated that people had to be tried before going to prison, giving the French people a more reformed legal system.

BUILT THE FRENCH EMPIRE
Through many battles, Napoleon conquered most of Europe. From here on out, France became a world power.

APPOINTED OFFICIALS BY MERIT AND FIRED CORRUPT OFFICIALS
Due to Napoleon's actions, France now had honest, competent officials and people had an equal opportunity in government.
