Energy is: what helps us do everything from walking to everyday exercise

POTENTIAL ENERGY

• Potential energy is enery that is stored inside an object/person until it becomes kinetic.
• Potential energy comes from the sun, as all energy does.
• Potential energy can be stored in anything, from batteries, to us!
• Potential energy is very important, because it is stored until it becomes kinetic energy.
• Without potential energy the world wouldn't be able to move, because potential energy becomes kinetic energy.

Example of potential energy:
A rock sitting on the edge of a cliff has potential energy, because it's not moving at all. Yet.

KINETIC ENERGY

• Kinetic energy is the energy that makes us move
• Like all energy kinetic energy comes from the sun
• Kinetic energy can be in anything, as long as it's moving
• Kinetic energy is important because without it the world wouldn't turn and you wouldn't move
