This piece of pottery is successful due to the artist's craftsmanship and use of texture. It takes a boring box with a lid and turns it into art that is visually appealing. Also, the artist spent time and effort making sure their edges are crisp and nice looking.

This piece of pottery is a successful slab container due to the way the artist incorporated color from the glaze to hide flaws and make the piece come together. The glaze is like the glue that combines this regular old container into something people want to see.

This piece of pottery is successful because it is innovative and very creative. Making something look real life using slabs is very difficult and this piece was executed very nicely.

This piece of pottery is successful because from looking at it you would think it would fall apart, but the design makes the piece structurally sound.

(Other successful pieces)This piece of pottery is successful because the artist took a risk and created this wonderful piece of art that would be very hard to duplicate because of the precise skills needed to create this.

(Other successful pieces)
This piece of pottery is successful because of the artist's method of scoring and slipping the pottery, I am assuming, to hold together such thin pieces with little support.

(Other successful pieces)
This piece is my favorite and successful because of how the artist had to be extremely precise and careful in order to create such thin leaves from slab pieces.
