This is a serious problem that I would like to share with you. I Think it is important that all people old, young or in between know about this horrible thing that people going through is all about.

What is poverty?
Poverty is the state of being extremely poor. Every four seconds someone dies from poverty and 21,000 people die every day also because of poverty according to the United Nations. Even though there is plenty of food in the world for everyone. The problem is that hungry people are in severe poverty. They lack the money to buy enough food to feed themselves. Being constantly malnourished, they become weaker and often sick. This makes them increasingly less able to work and not earn as much money as normal and that is not much at all.

How did poverty start?
People say it began with slavery, the seizure of land, minerals, and forced labor or The stock market crash in 1929 that led to a decrease in consumer confidence during a large loss of jobs. Or even that poverty has lasted until today as a result of unfair debt, trade, and tax policies, which the rich nations of the North have imposed on the nations of the South. I agree it could be any of these or maybe it just happened somehow family by family.

How do homeless people survive in extreme weather?

Homeless people sometimes stay in any place they are allowed to be to keep warm they might stay in like bus stops the outside of a shopping centre or maybe a cheap tent they brought. They might find some materials and products so they could make their own shelter. Or they might use leaves and grass as their beds and pillows. Some homeless people might ask for money on the streets for warmth in wintertime or to cool down in summertime.

What and how much do people going through poverty eat?
They might eat rice or eat bread and beans for lunch or dinner. They eat porridge made of flour and water. Or even nothing or a grain of rice. As you can see the more than three billion people that live below the poverty line don't have enough food to eat and survive.

What would the world be like without poverty?

If poverty didn't exist then people wouldn't be thirsty and won't die from poverty. Everyone in the world would have fresh food and clean and fresh water. It would mean no one is getting diseases from unsafe food and polluted water. And now you should see if there was no poverty it would make a enormous difference because people would be happy and will eat well and happy.

Donate as much money as you can to charity so people that need money get the money they need from the charity that you donated from. Do the forty hour famine to raise money for people who are in need and don't have enough money to buy the things they need. Sponsor a child.
