MY PERSONAL STORY

BY: ALLY SEKULA

My name is Ally Sekula. I am in the sixth grade at Eisenhower Middle School. I love to listen to music, cheer, and have fun. In my free time I usually text, watch movies and go outside. Cheerleading is a big part of my life, I practice at home, go to a class on Wednesday and Thursday and also have private lessons on Mondays. When I grow up I want to me a makeup and hair designer on movies and live in California.

My skills and abilities vary from sports to hobbies. I like cheerleading, track, swimming, and volleyball. I also like to do gymnastics with my sister and run or jog.

By the time when I graduate high school I will want to go to a good beauty collage. While in collage I will probably want to have a party time job somewhere so I can have enough money. At collage I will become a makeup and hair designer on movies.

By the time I am at the age of thirty I will have a family and be working on makeup and hair still. Hopefully I will have I a nice pay and be able to live in a nice house.

When I am at the age of fifty years old I will still be working on makeup. My kids will be in school and we will still be a happy family

When I am eighty I will be retired and so will me husband. My kids will be in a family and I will have grandchildren. I would have retired at the age of probably sixty.

My final words and advice to the world is to always determine yourself to do anything that you want. Because if you push yourself and tell you self to do something you will always reach your goal if you try hard enough.

POVERTY

Poverty is the state of being extremely poor. When you have absolutely nothing to eat, no place to live, nothing to wear and nothing to trade or sell. Imagine waking up in the morning squashed between your two children on a dirty mattress. You get up and skip breakfast because you have nothing to eat. Next you walk out of your closet sized hotel room to see the hallway with blood stains and drug dealers around every corner. Then you walk to a placement home and beg the people to put you in another place to live. When they deny your request you go back to your room, and sit there for the rest,of the day. Then go to sleep, hoping and praying of waking up in a new home.

I chose this global issue because I feel that is is a big problem facing mankind today. I fell very bad for these people and children living in poverty and I want to see what I can do to help them out. I think that poverty is an interesting topic and I would love to learn a lot more about it.

WHERE POVERTY IS FOUND

Poverty did not just happen. It started with slavery, conquest and war. Throughout the years poverty has gotten worse and worse. Some if the main causes of poverty today are, people losing their homes because they can't pay the rent, people moving out because if drugs and violence, home fires with no insurance, and death or injures causing them to not work for money.

There are things currently being done to stop poverty in the world. In schools, there are donation services and fun raisers, raising money to help the people in need. People are also donating to companies like the food bank or other services. there are also charity groups gaining money and going to places with most poverty and giving out food and water to keep them alive.

to help stop and reduce poverty I am planning to donate lots of money to charity groups that work to help poverty. I will raise money by having a fundraiser and then I will give the money to charity to help kids and adults who are in poverty.

I think that my solution would work because the money will go to a charity and the charity will use the money that I raised to buy food, water, medicine and anything that you need for families in extreme poverty
