What is praise?
- To commend; to applaud; to express approval or admiration of
- To exalt in words or in song; to magnify; to glorify
- Praise is preoccupied with who God is and what He has done
- Praise is a celebration and exhilaration
- Praise can be singing, shouting playing instruments, and dancing
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Psalm 22:3
The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

#3 There is power in praise
#4 We are created to bring forth praise to God.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. Isaiah 43:21
#1 Praise Him continually
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is , the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Hebrews 13:15
#2 Praise Him when our souls are at rest.
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. Psalm 32:7
#3 Praise Him in the midst of the trial
In every thing give thanks : for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I Thessalonians 5:18

How should we praise god?
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Psalm 103:1
Todah: extends hands in thanksgiving
Vadah: to worship with extended hands
And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it at your own will.
