1st Precept
The first precept of the Catholic Church is
to attend mass every Sunday and on the
holy days of obligation. Also to rest in mass
from servile labor.

2nd Precept
The 2nd precept is to go to confession
at least once a month. This prepares us
for the Eucharist and continue your
baptismal works of conversion and
forgiveness.

3RD PRECEPT
The 3rd Precept is You shall receive the
Eucharist at least once during the Easter
Season. What this does is guarantees
unity with us and the Lords Body and
Blood

4TH PRECEPT
The 4th Precept is to participate in
fasting and abstinence on days such as
Good Friday, all of the Fridays in Lent,
and also Ash Wednesday.

5TH PRECEPT
The 5th precept is to help in the needs
of the church. These needs include
financial needs. A way we can help out
is by donating 10% of our salaries to
the church or other organizations.

FASTING
Fasting is a very important part
of our faith. Fasting is cutting down on
the amount of food we eat a day. Catholics
ages 18-59 must participate in Fasting on
Good Friday and Ash Wednesday.

9.
ABSTINENCE
Abstinence means not eating meat on the
Friday's of Lent, Good Friday, and on Ash
Wednesday. Fish does not count as meat.
If they choose, Catholics can substitute not eating
Meat for other charitable acts.
