  • Indirect questions in English have two parts:
  • In the first example, the first part, Do you know tells us that what follows is a question. This first part is our “mini question”. Then there is the question that we really want to ask. What we have to do here is take our question and change the position of the first verb with that of the subject to be able to ask an indirect question. First comes the subject and then the verb.

  • We use this time to talk about temporary actions and events that will continue to unfold at a particular time in the future.
