  • People want a president that is a leader
  • People want a president that is a follower
  • "King and commoner"

SCENARIO

  • If a president listens to the people he is a follower
  • Then how is that president able to lead?

EXAMPLES

  • FDR - listened to the people and acted
  • Jefferson - known as the "people's president"
  • Lincoln - real with the people("Honest Abe")
  • Wilson - lowering tariffs, helping economy

OVERCOMING THE PARADOX

  • It is not common for someone to over come a paradox
  • It is possible though as there are many examples
  • Listening and leading based off of creative leadership
