PRICE'S CREEK LIGHTHOUSE

IT WAS BUILT IN

Construction

Price's Creek Lighthouse was made out of brick and mortar.
It had eight lamps with reflectors. Today it does not have any lights because bombs were dropped on the lighthouse in the civil war.

WAS 26 FEET WHEN IT WAS BUILT.

THR LIGHTHOUSE'S

BASE DIAMETER IS 17 FEET.

IT'S LIGHT DISTANCE WAS

25 MILES.

IT IS LOCATED IN

SOUTHPORT, NORTH CAROLINA, ON THE BANK OF THE CAPE FEAR RIVER.

IT WAS BUILT IN THAT LOCATION

TO HELP SOLDIERS SIGNAL BETWEEN FORT FISHER AND FORT CASWELL.

WE SADLY COULD

NOT FIND HOW ARE LIGHTHOUSE GOT IT'S NAME.

THE LIGHTHOUSE WAS

ACTIVE UNTIL 1861.

Interesting facts

1. It was used to guide ships from Cape Fear to Wilmington, North Carolina.

2. The bricks that were used to build the lighthouse were imported from England.
