How does a person's social class affect relationships?

At the 19 century of British, also referred to as the Victorian Era, totally different social values and class division than now, 19 century, is when the industry revolution started in England, the revolution did improve the life quality of people but also reinforced the class devision which already exist in England for hundreds of years. At that period of time, have totally three big different classes, lower, middle and upper class, in the upper class also have Royal, Professionals, gentleman and so on.

During the Victorian Era, the gentry was the one that controlled politics and economic and has always been. But for the lower class, they having a totally different life. All of the member from the family have to go to work, even the kids, they were doing the dangerous work, and the owner abused those kids. At that time, the relationship between wealthy and poor people it only can be slavery, it’s just wrong for them to be friends or lover.

In today, different social class still can impact relationship, especially marriage. people might think that in today’s life, everyone should be equal and different social class should’t exist. But that’s not the same social class that is talking about, the people get different education, different job, different salary, different living condition…that is different social class. Those people often have different agreement on political view, social value and monetary value, social class will influence a person’s lifestyle. Those people in marriage might meet platy of problems, it’s hard for them to meet consensus. And that ’s not the only problem, it’s hard for the upper class parents to accept a marriage with lower class, and it always being like that, that’s what happened in this novel.
