Cellphone use during school hours can affect children's grades and attention during class.

Cell Phones cause distraction

  • Students pay more attention to their phones throughout the day instead of listening to their professors.
  • Students use their phones to cheat and contact other friends who are also in school.
  • Children can also have their phones stolen in school when they are not paying attention.
  • Children can also contact children is other classes distracting them from their studies too.

How can we limit the amount of time children use their phones during school hours?

In order to limit the amount of cellphone use during class I believe that both the teachers and students would have to compromise.

My opinion would be to have the children place their cellphone into a basket before class and they can retrieve it at the end of class each day.

In order for students to do this, they should be allowed to have their phones during their lunch periods to play games and listen to music but they would have to turn it off before the end of the period.

We know that all students will try to be sneaky and not hand in their phones but I believe if we catch them with it, the teacher has every right to confiscate it and make them pay a fine.

I believe that if some schools started to do this before each class students would pay attention more and their grades and hands would go up more.
