What was it?

  • The Proclamation of 1763 was "rule" or law that the colonist had to follow
  • To prevent any conflicts with the native Americans The Proclamation of 1763 was put into play
  • Colonist could not go west of the Appalachian Mountains

When

  • 1763 at the end of the French Indian War

Where?

  • The Proclamation of 1763 was the decision of English Empire
  • It only effected the colonies in America

Why did this happen

  • To prevent any other conflicts with the the Native Americans
  • The Proclamation of 1763 was put into play in America for the colonist to follow

How

  • The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian
  • This lead to the Proclamation of 1763
  • This was created by King George III

Pontiac's Rebellion

  • Lasted 3 years 1763-1766
  • Native Americans were angry with the treatment from English
  • British were kicking them out of their land
  • French and Indians lived in harmony

  • First attack was unsuccessful
  • Most of the violence happened in the year of 1763
  • Rest of the years were spent trying to make peace treaties

Why is this important

  • It allowed for the Native Americans to have land
  • It prevented any violence
