WAR PROFITEERING

  • A war profiteer is anyone who profits from a war
  • Many goods are sold during wars such as
  • Food, clothing, ammunition, contracting, etc
  • Wars can be very beneficial to a nations economy

CIVIL WAR PROFITEERING

  • Since it was a war amongst themselves, the people
  • Were fighting each other causing them to leave their jobs to go
  • fight the other side. Fields of crops were burned and many homes
  • were destroyed because it was on our own soil.

PROFITEERS

  • Farm owners were able to sell food and cotton to troops
  • Drafting caused people to buy people to fight for them
  • Factories were running to produce guns and ammunition
  • Miners and other gatherers worked to gather useful recourses
  • Railroads were running to move war goods to the troops

CIVIL WAR

  • The civil war was one one of our nations most
  • devastating wars since it was fought on our
  • soil, it had the second highest death toll of
  • any other war fought by America because we
  • were fighting ourselves.

CONCLUSION

  • In the end, the war boosted our economy
  • our economy because like many other wars
  • we were able to produce goods
  • and sell to the troops. It was devastating
  • because so many Americans were killed in battle
