What is it?

• Genetic condition
• Appearance of accelerated aging in children

Effects

• Growth failure
• Loss of body fat or hair

• Stiffness of joints
• Hip dislocation

More Effects

• generalized atherosclerosis

Causes

• Mutation in gene called LMNA
• Gene produces lamin-A protein
• Lamin-A helps hold nucleus together
• The defective protein makes the cell unstable
• This leads to diseases
