1- INITIATION

At the very beginning , it is not easy to stick to Initiating ONLY and not get engaged in planning already. A project manager needs to make the team focused on two main tasks:
1- Developing the Project Charter (Integration)
2- Identifying the Stakeholders (Communications)
These two outputs will be the guiding stars to the next phase "Planning"

2- PLANNING

The heart of Project Management. If planning is done properly and given enough time, success becomes more attainable. Because afterwards, going back to initiation or planning will fall under 'change' which costs time, efforts, and money. So make sure you cover all aspects when planning.

Here is a list of all activities to be covered during planning stage:
- Develop Project Mgmt Plan (Integration)
- Collect Requirements, Define Scope, and Create WBS (Scope)
- Define Activities, Sequence Activities, Estimate Activity Resources, then Duration, and Develop Schedule (Time)
- Estimate Cost, and Determine Budget (Cost)
- Plan Quality (Quality)
- Develop Human Resource Plan (HR)
- Plan Communications (Comm.)
- Plan Risk Mgmt, Identify Risks, Perform Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis, and Plan Risk Responses (Risk)
- Plan Procurement (Procurement)

3- EXECUTING

Doing the job.
This process group involves coordinating people, and resources, as well as integrating and performing the activities of the project in accordance with the Project Mgmt PLAN

4- Monitoring &Controlling

Tracking, Reviewing, and Regulating the progress and performance of the project. Unlike all other process groups, this one is continuous through planning and execution. To better understand its continuity take a look at the next slide

The prcesses listed under Monitoring & Controlling can be limited to:

- Monitoring &Controlling Project Work, and Performing Integrated Change Control (Integration)
- Verifying and Controlling the Scope (Scope)
- Controlling the Schedule (Time)
- Controlling the Cost (Cost)
- Performing Quality (Quality)
- Reporting Performance (HR)
- Monitoring and Controlling Risks (Risk)
- Administer Procurement

5- CLOSING

Here we finalize all activities across all other process groups. Result is formally establishing the completion of the Project
It comes down to two main activities:
1- Closing my project
2- Closing all related procurement

You must have noticed that the information listed is clear and self-explanatory. This is because the PMBOK guides you in a way of thinking to attain the best results. Project Management does not present new, it arranges what is already available.

Hope you enjoyed!
