PROMISES

MOISHE

Moishe lived in the right-wing settlement and intends to be Israel's first religious prime minister. He had never met an Arab and intends to "clear them all out".

MAHMOUD

Mahmoud is a supporter of Hamas. He says the more Jews we kill the stronger the Arabs will be. Later on in the movie he says that he now does not hate Jews nor is afraid of them.

SHLOMO

Shlomo is a ultra-orthodox Jewish boy. He is training to be a rabbi. He has no conflict with the Arabs, but does not "Hate" them. He is also the son of a well respected rabbi. Also, he speaks english.

YARKO

Yarko lives in west Jerusalem, he has a twin named Daniel. At first he was deeply concerned with the army but now is in the army. Yarko is not afraid of the Jews but is hesitant with them even know he is a Jew.

DANIEL

Daniel is Yarkos twin brother. He is a lot like Yarko but does have some differences. He is a Jew and is afraid of ultra-Orthodox Jews, he does not want to be near them. He was also afraid of joining the army but now he is in it.

FARAJ

Faraj is a Arab. He loves in a refugee camp. He absolutely hated the Jewish folks, but later on in the movie he was talking to Jewish kids and having fun playing games with them. After two years he feels like the world has taken a turn for the worst, and he moved to the USA.

SANABEL

Sanabel is a third generation refugee. She is from a family of modern secular Arabs. Her father is in a Israel prison for being a journalist. She wants her father out of jail, and she wants to meet more Jewish people.

PREJUDICE

Over the movie, all of the characters were saying that they did not want to talk to each other. Later on in the movie they all met up and were playing games and talking to each other and enjoying their time. So in the long run they were wrong to say that they did not like each other, they were being prejudice by "judging a book by its cover".

DOMINATION

In promises there was constantly soldiers walking around ready to take action if some one would try to dominate the Israel territory.

REFUGEE

A refugee is someone who is forced to leave their country to escape war or religious conflict. It is like in promises when the Palestinians were forced to leave Israel.
