Proteins are NOT just what you eat and they aren't just one thing either. Proteins taker many forms and serve many purposes. It isn't just eggs and chicken!

PROTEINS ARE:

• Structural components of body tissues such as muscle and hair.
• Are essential to life.
• Are non-polar

BUT WHAT DO THEY DO?

• Can serve as enzymes, antibodies, insulin etc.
• Does a lot of work in organisms.
• Required for life.

STRUCTURE

• Amino acids strung together make proteins.
• Other things can be added to the base structure to serve different purposes in the organism it resides in.
