WHAT IS A PROTIST?

PROTIST ARE EUKARYOTES THAT CAN'T BE CLASSIFIED AS PLANT OR ANIMAL.

ANIMAL LIKE PROTIST

  • They Are like animals in the sense that they move from Place to
  • Place to get food. But unlike animals they are unicellular

PLANTLIKE PROTIST

  • Plant like protist are usually called algae, they are much like trees
  • And plants because they can make their own food and provide a
  • Large amount of oxygen we can breath.

FUNGUS LIKE PROTIST

  • They are referred to as the "sort of like" organisms they are sort of
  • Like plants because they have a cell wall and they use spores to
  • Reproduce. But they are also like animal because they are heterotrophs.

WHAT IS FUNGI

  • Fungi is like mold it grows on stale bread and other vegetables and
  • Can grow as mushrooms. There is even a type of fungus that lives
  • On crickets,kills them, and uses its body to make more cricket
  • Killing fungus.

SAC FUNGUS

  • Sac fungi makes spores that look like long sacs,
  • They are the largest group of fungi and they include
  • Yeasts,morels,and truffles.

CLUB FUNGUS

  • Club fungi produces spores in a club like structures.
  • This group includes mushrooms,rusts,and puffballs

ZYGOTE FUNGUS

  • Zygote fungus makes very strong and resistant spores
  • This group includes a lot of common fruit and bread molds, like rhizopud
  • The mold that you see on this bread.

USES OF FUNGUS

  • Like bacteria, fungus are decomposers some live in the soil and break
  • Down dead plant bodies and cells to help other alive plants grow
  • Better.
  • Some fungus even fight and kill diseases and many antibiotics
  • Are made from fungi but the first one made was penicillin.
