What is a protist?

  • They are eukaryotes that cannot be classified as animals, plants, and fungi.
  • Live in moist surroundings.
  • Some can't move others zoom around their moist surroundings.

Animal-like protist๐Ÿข๐Ÿต

  • Animal-like Protists are heterotrophs.
  • Protozoans are unicellular.
  • Most are able to move from place to place.
  • Protozoan can be classified into four groups.

๐ŸŒป๐ŸPlant-like protist๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ

  • They are autotrophs.
  • Most use photosynthesis .
  • They vary greatly in size.
  • Diatoms are unicellular with a glass cell wall.
  • Dinoflagellates are unicellular algae surrounded by stiff plates.

Fungus-like Protists ๐Ÿ„

  • They are heterotrophs.
  • Have cell walls.
  • Uses spores to reproduce.
  • spore is a tiny cell that is able to grow into a new organism.

๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ„What is a fungus?๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ„
