PLASMODIUM

• "Plasmodium Falciparum" or Malaria
• Fever, vomiting, headache, other flu symptoms
• Comes from Mosquitos
• Most cases are in Africa and South America
• Lives in the bloodstream

TRYPANOSOMA

• "African trypanosomiasis" or African Sleeping Sickness
• Comes from the Tse Tse Fly
• Occurs mostly in Sub-Saharan Africa

SYMPTOMS

• Fever, headaches, pain in joints
• Confusion, lack of coordination, uncontrolled sleepiness
• The last three happen when parasite infects central nervous system

GIARDIA

• "Guardia intestinalis" or Giardiasis
• Comes from drinking contaminated water
• Severe diarrhea and vomiting
• Protist lives in the digestive tract

AMOEBA

• "Entamoeba histolytica"
• Causes Amebic Dysentery
• Comes from contaminated food or water

SYMPTOMS

• Slimy, anemia, weight loss,
• Dehydration, fatigue, chills,
• Abdominal cramps, gas and bloating,
• Bloody stool with mucus.
• Peritonitis if amoebae breaks through intestinal wall
