HORSE HARNESSES & THREE FIELD SYSTEM

HORSE HARNESSES

  • Horses were used to pull plows
  • The harnesses made the horses go twice
  • (Cont.) as fast as oxen who had been used before

3 FEILD SYTEM

  • Crops were grown in rotation
  • There were 3 fields
  • 2 fields with crops
  • 1 field left empty to regain nutrients

RESULTS IN THE PEOPLE

  • People are healthier
  • More food was available
  • People lived longer
  • Increased the population

KINGS GOALS

  • Spread Christianity
  • Gain more power
  • Gain more land in France

HOW THEY ACHIEVED THESE GOALS

  • Fighting in the Hundred Years' War
  • If they won they gained land
  • They spread Christianity throughout
  • (Cont.) new lands they won

FRANCE AND ENGLAND V. GERMANY AND ITALY

FRANCE AND ENGLAND

  • Kings ruled in a feudal system
  • Strong central government
  • Strong national power

ITALY AND GERMANY

  • Emperors lost control
  • Independent states
  • Little nations did not have much power

MORE POWER

  • England and France had more power
  • Because they had a strong central government
  • Also because they had strong national power
  • And lastly because the kings ruled in a feudal system
