EXPLORING THE BOOK OF PROVERBS

PROVERBS 1: 18-19
18 These men lie in wait for their own blood, they set a trap for their own lives.
19 This is the fate of everyone greedy of loot: unlawful gain takes away the life of him who acquires it.

Explanation for Proverb1: 18-19
People are very, greedy today and they don't know what they have. People should just be thankful for what they have. In times instead of turning to violence and looting turn to God for help even in the hard times.

PROVERBS 3: 5-7




5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence rely not;
6 In all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

Explanation for Proverbs 3:5-7
Always trust in Jesus he can help you never be afraid to talk to him he will give you open arms. Satin is always tempting us to turn away from Jesus and always follow him. You make your own decisions make the right one and follow in Jesus' path.

PROVERBS 6: 16-19
16 There are six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to him;
17 Haughty eyes, a lying tounge, and hands that shed innocent blood;
18 A heart that plots wicked schemes, feet that run swiftly to evil,
19 The false witness who utters lies and he who sows discord amoung brothers.

Explanation for Proverbs 6:16-19
God loves many things in life but there are something's that he doesn't like and that when us as Catholics break the Ten Commandments that why God gave them to Moses so that we can learn them in daily lives so we can get to heaven.

PROVERBS 4: 1-2, 4
1 Hear, O children,a father's instruction, be attentive, that you may gain understanding!
2 yes, excellent advice I give to you; my teaching do not forsake.
4 He taught me, and said to me: "Let your heart hold fast my words: keep my commands, that you may live!

Explanation for Proverbs 4:1-2,4
Honor your father and mother this verse is a good example of the 4th Commandment your father and mother are your owners they teach you the things that God wants us to learn. They are suppose to give you good advice and help you through life. Your parents are teachers of God they teach you to be good.

PROVERBS 22: 1
1 A good name is more desirable than great riches, and high esteem, than gold and silver.

Explanation for Proverbs 22:1
You shouldn't be greedy and rich you should share or give money to charity or the the poor. St. Francis did this same exact thing gave all of his riches to the poor. You should give money not consume it give the money to the less fortunate people need it more than you.
