1.
NOT CONCENTRATING
BY PERLA AND SIBONEY
2.
WHAT IT MEANS
To let your thoughts wander rather than to concentrate on what is being said.
To give in to physical and mental distractions.
3.
FACTS
Your brain is 73% water.
It takes 2% dehydration to affect your attention memory and other cognitive skills.
We talk at a rate of 120 to 150 words a minute but the brain can process 400 to 800 words a minute
Makes it harder to listen when your brain can process 400-800 words a minute.
Multitasking makes you less productive.
4.
MORE FACTS
Your attention span is 8 seconds.
Because we still have spare "brain time" we are tempted to interrupt our listening by thinking about other things.
When you multitask it makes work 50% less valuable & takes 50% longer to finish
After losing attention from a topic a person may restore it by resting.
We can only remember 3-4 things simultaneously
