Traditional Puerto Rican food includes spices put into the meat
In American culture, deer and turkey were hunted.
Today, Puerto Rican food includes fried plantain.
Other foods include chicken and pork, served street vendors
Americans still have a lot of meat, but most commonly beef.

Puerto Ricans celebrate the aboltion of slavery (March 22nd)
Both America and Puerto Rico celebrate Christmas and Lent.
Puerto Ricans also celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's birthday.
Modern American holidays are Valentine's Day, and Halloween.
A holiday that started a while ago was the 4th of July

LANGUAGE
For a short time in 1990, Spanish was the official language of Puerto Rico.
Today, both English and Spanish are equally used.
The very first languages in the Americas would have to be Native American languages.
Right now, English is a very prevalent language in the U.S..
However, People also speak things like Spanish.

ENTERTAINMENT
Today, both Americans and Puerto Ricans enjoy watching TV.
Going to the movie theater is also very popular.
Other things include video games, books, and the internet.
Traditional entertainments include books.
Others may include plays, and games, or telling stories.

HISTORY
Many of Puerto Rico's indigenous peoples died when Columbus came.
This same thing happened in America, due to disease.
In 2006, the territory had street protests over the first sales tax.
And in 2011Obama became the firt president to visit since Kennedy.
In August, 2014, the U.S. had an officer shoot an unarmed black man in Ferguson.
