• Modern American holidays are Valentine's Day, and Halloween.
• A holiday that started a while ago was the 4th of July

LANGUAGE

• For a short time in 1990, Spanish was the official language of Puerto Rico.
• Today, both English and Spanish are equally used.
• The very first languages in the Americas would have to be Native American languages.
• Right now, English is a very prevalent language in the U.S..
• However, People also speak things like Spanish.

• Today, both Americans and Puerto Ricans enjoy watching TV.
• Going to the movie theater is also very popular.
• Other things include video games, books, and the internet.
• Traditional entertainments include books.
• Others may include plays, and games, or telling stories.

HISTORY

• Many of Puerto Rico's indigenous peoples died when Columbus came.
• This same thing happened in America, due to disease.
• In 2006, the territory had street protests over the first sales tax.
• And in 2011Obama became the firt president to visit since Kennedy.
• In August, 2014, the U.S. had an officer shoot an unarmed black man in Ferguson.
