Data Collection

Videos/still shots will be taken to help demonstrate knowledge and form

1st and 2nd Stages of Movement

3rd and 4th stages of Movement

Analysis of My Movements

When analyzing the still shots of me completing the push press, I found that there are some components of my execution that can be better. The push press is a difficult movement to perform because the exercise has various movements that are incorporated. The lower body movements have to coincide with the upper body movements, which can lead to issues with form. While looking at the 2nd stage of the lift, I noticed my elbows must be aligned and a little higher in this portion of the lift. Also, in the 4th stage, my wrists are too pronated.

Reflection

  • While reflecting on my performance during the weight training session, I am confident in my ability to correct the form issues I discovered after viewing still shots of my performance. Using Ipads to film our lift has helped tremendously, it allows me the option to see how I move when performing an exercise. Also, it helps me see what I'm doing correct and what I need to adjust.
