The History Of Pythagorean Theroem

The Pythagorean Theorem is named after after the Greek mathematician. Pythagoras. Also,Mesopotamian,Indian and Chinese mathematicians have all been know for independently discovering the result, some even providing proof of special cases.

More History
There is a debate whether the Pythagorean theorem was discovered once,or many times in many places.Theorem can be divided into four parts,Pythagorean triples, knowledge among the sides of a right triangle, knowledge among adjacent angles and proofs of the Theorem within some deductive system .

Pythagorean Triples
Bartel Leendert van der Waerden said that Pythagorean triples were discovered algebraically by the Babylonians. The Mesopotamian tablet Plimpton 322,written between 1790 and 1750 BC contains many entries closely related to Pythagorean triples. In,India the Baudhayana Sulba Sutra, dates that between the 8th century BC and the 2nd century BC contains a list of Pythagorean triples.
