How it Works

The Pythagorean theorem is used to find an unknown side of a right triangle. The theorem states that the sum of the squares of the legs of a right triangle is equal to the square of the hypotenuse.

Theorem Uses

The Pythagorean Theorem has many real life applications. It is used in construction to determine if walls are square, meaning that they have right angles in all four corners. It also has applications in navigation, surveying, and in architecture.
