PYTHAGORUS

THE BEGINNING

• Pythagoras was born on a Greek Island called Samos
• It is believed that he was born around 570 B.C.
• As a child he was well educated and then became one of the fist mathematicians.

THE PYTHAGOREANS

• After Pythagoras had traveled through many countries he created a group of mathematicians called the pythagoreans that were devoted to mathematics.

THE PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM

• Because the Pythagoreans were sworn to secrecy, no one really knows if Pythagoras was the author of the formula.
• All we know is that Pythagoras and his team have accomplished many great things that we use in math today.

PYTHAGORAS'S DEATH

• Many people have many theory's of how Pythagoras died but the most popular are:
• Dying with his brothers, the pythagoreans, in a temple.
• Fleeing to Tarentum and starving himself
• His predicted death was 495 B.C.
