  • Improvement methods to continuously improve the quality and safety of health care

  • Health related quality of life
  • Perception of being well cared for
  • Symptom management

HOW TO IDENTIFY QUALITY OF CARE

  • Is care safe?
  • Is care effective?
  • Is care patient centered?
  • Is care timely?
  • Is care efficient?

HOW TO IMPROVE QUALITY

  • This must be a daily goal
  • Form quality improvement teams
  • Make flow sheets and daily sheets available
  • Encourage continuing of education
