VICTORIA'S REIGN

  • She ruled from June 20th, 1837 until her death on January 22nd, 1901.
  • Her reign is often considered great by most due to her foreign peacekeeping.
  • Overall she was characterized as a good queen.

QUEEN VICTORIA'S EFFECT

  • Victoria contributed to England's great age of industrial, economic, and foreign expansion.
  • Under Victoria industrialization generally favored the middle class and was detrimental to the lower class.

THE QUEEN'S MORALS & ETHICD

  • The queen reflected the opinions and attitudes of her subjects and appeared to be quite liberal.
  • These liberal ideals most likely contributed to the creative and scientific expansion under her rule.

QUEEN OF HEARTE SYMBOLISM?

  • Lewis Carroll's character The Queen of Hearts is similar to Queen Victoria in that both allocated power to members of parliament.
  • Both are simply a symbol of leadership and royalty who have no real power.
