QUICK RESPONSE SUPPLY CHAIN

Fashion practice- FPR01

QUICK RESPONSE PROJECT

  • Description of "Quick response supply chain ( Quick response has been proposed as an appropriate operational strategy to serve volatile markets. In fashion, postponing design, production and distribution as much as possible may indeed reduce the uncertainty related to product success. Agile supply chains, Quick response and Lean are all concepts that helps improving the supply chain (Barnes & Lea- Greenwood, 2010). Effective management of the supply chain has become an important part of success which has resulted in competition between the supply chains rather than between companies. Supply chain is today about strategies in terms of organisation and co-ordination with the different parts within the supply chain. To be able to deliver value to the customers companies
  • There's differences between a traditional and a responsive supply chain.... They differ in this way: "Traditional supply chain" model was based on a push based strategy where the manufacturers produced the goods and pushed them through the supply chain without receiving any proper feedback and information regarding any requirements or specifications. In that process, there was often some gaps between the supply and demand which led to either shortage or waste of produced end-products. "Responsive supply chain" to respond purposefully and within an appropriate timeframe to customer requests or changes in the marketplace.

Lifestyle and Fashion trends!!!

LIFESTYLE TRENDS

  • The rise and emergence of feminism in the 1970s is one of the most significant social movements. This trend helped to define the time period. The emergence of "the politics of empathy" was one of the most significant and transformative movements of the 1970s. Feminism changed every aspect of the social order. Families were fundamentally transformed as women explored new aspects of their identity that existed outside of the domestic realm. With the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, public policy reflected the emergence of this social reality. Women were able to appropriate control over their own bodies and, in the process, helped to transform public discourse. This same discussion extended into the Equal Rights Amendment, and legislative action that ensured equality between the genders. The social trend of feminism helped to transform what society could be and helped to expand such possibilities.

FASHION TREND

  • Fashion is essentially the most popular mode of expression: It describes the ever-changing style of clothes worn by those with cultural status. A fashion trend occurs when others mimic or emulate this clothing style. Fashions vary greatly within a society over time, but also are affected by age, occupation, sexual orientation, location and social class. Today, a fashion trend starts with fashion designers, who design a spring and fall collection based on cues and inspiration they’ve gathered throughout the season. These cues can include popular culture, celebrities, music, politics, nature or something else entirely.
  • For example, it is said that, back in the 1960s- fashion reflected the cultural and political upheaval of the time. The hippie and counterculture movement gave rise to accessories like Pocahontas-style headbands and medallions worn around the neck. Hippies wore long, loosely fitting clothing, often in natural fabrics and so on. Just like how you see most of the merchandise in our South African market and studio w.
