My strengths and skills are what make me cut out to work in the field of law, psychology or with youth. I am a great communicator and work well with others which is important for the all the career pathways since the tasks of the jobs include working with people. The fact that I learn quickly and thrive under pressure makes a law occupation an option since they must be organized and motivated individuals.
In the summer and on weekends I like to spend my time doing activities that give back to the community. I work with youth programs such as camps and early learning centres. This is so I can gain experience and develop skills such as problem solving and leadership.
To become a lawyer, psychologist or youth worker you must go into University. In my spare time I like activities that keep an open/creative mind and that give back to the community. These qualities and interests are important for any of my potential career paths. Each path has the connecting aspect of helping others, often those more in need or at risk. With my experience working with youth and young children I have gained valuable knowledge and skills. My creative thinking will help me put myself in others shoes which is important in any of the career pathways.
By doing this course I have opened my eyes and options to take additional courses to begin my career journey. By taking introductory courses in grade 11 & 12 I will gain knowledge and experience in the different career paths. Introduction to law and introduction to psychology are two courses I plan to take in my high school experience. This will in turn help me pick the right direction for me before I go into University.
