Why are people Racist?

• No race is superior or inferior to another were all the same although there are many reason people have racist additudes.

• We people only hangout with people who like us its normal to want to be around people with he same culture and interest.
• We're quick to judge, we often put labels on people even if we don't know them.

What can we do ?

• We've all seen or heard something racist and want to say or do something but we're not sure how to go about it.
• Say something: It doesn't have to be aggressive or abusive.
• If you're at school talk to a teacher
• Talk to friends or family get advice on how to fix a situation
• Take your own stand and be proud of your culture and where you come from.

Where does racism happen ?

• At school, being bullied or made fun of because of your race.
• At home, family members criticizing or making racial jokes
• Online, facebook, social media making offensive jokes.
• At work, being left out or refused a job because of discrimination.

• Racism is a cruel thing don't judge people not by their skin color or stereotypical race.

What does the law say about racism?

• Everyone has the right to think or believe what they want.
• If you see racism happening stand up to it, there are lots of ways that you can help it end!

Personal Story

• Can’t you see?” the lady said – “I was given a seat next to a black man. I can’t seat here next to him. You have to change my seat” “Please, calm down, ma” – said the hostess “Unfortunately, all the seats are occupied, but I’m still going to check if we have any.” The hostess left and returned some minutes later. “Madam, as I told you, there isn’t any empty seat in this class- economy class. But I spoke to the captain and he confirmed that there aren’t any empty seats in the economy class. We only have seats in the first class.” And before the woman said anything, the hostess continued “Look, it is unusual for our company to allow a passenger from the economy class change to the first class. However, given the circumstances, the commandant thinks that it would be a scandal to make a passenger travel sat next to an unpleasant person.” And turning to the black man, the hostess said: “Which means, Sir, if you would be so nice to pack your handbag, we have reserved you a seat in the first class…” And all the passengers nearby, who were shocked to see the scene started applauding, some standing on their feet.

But no one there had the nerve to speak up and help this poor man.
