Not only there was a musical called "Ragtime", there was an American drama film (movie) called "Ragtime."

- evolved by black american musicians in the 1890s and especially played on piano
- Widely popular throughout North America in the 20th century
- Scott Joplin was the greatest composer of 'ragtime’. In fact he is often called the 'King of Ragtime.'
- Ragtime was adopted by both white and black Tin Pan Alley songwriters and classical composers
