• Ray was born on Oct. 05 1902
• At age 15 he lied about his age and became a Red Cross driver in WW1   
• After WW1 he became a salesman for 17 years

How he became an entrepreneur

• He became a salesman in the 40s selling milkshake machines   
• The McDonald brothers were his clients who bought a few machines  
• Grasping the franchising potential of McDonald’s, Kroc offered to work as a franchising agent for a cut of the profits
• he became the president of mcdonalds

What he did for Mcdonalds

• Under Kroc’s ownership, McDonald’s retained some of its original character while incorporating new elements
• Kept assembly line approach to hamburger preparation that the brothers did 
• Kroc innovated the place to be automated, standardization and discipline
