ELEMENTS OF A SHORT STORY
Static Character
A character who does not change in the story.
Ex: Micky Mouse- he does not change.
Dynamic Character
The character that changes as the plot unfolds.
Ex: Ariel- she changes into a human
Protagonist
A protagonist is the main character in a story, play, or novel.
Ex: any main character
Antagonist
The antagonist is a force working against the protagonist or main character in a story.
Ex: The bad guy
Irony
An expression that signifies the opposite,typically for humorous or emphatic effect. (sarcasm)
Ex: Scar is very sarcastic in The Lion King
